The Congress has finalized former minister UT Khader as a surprise choice for the new speaker of the state assembly. The names of RV Deshpande, TB Jayachandra and HK Patil were heard for the post of Speaker.

But now it has come to know that Congress has selected UT Khader for the post of Legislative Assembly Speaker at the last moment. On Tuesday 11.30, UT Khader will submit nomination papers for the post of Speaker, it is learned that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar will sign the nomination papers.
