BJP calls NDA meeting on July 18, Akali Dal, TDP likely to attend
BJP, Congress and other opposition parties have started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the country in 2024. BJP is in action mode after the meeting of opposition unity in Patna. The BJP is trying to reunite the old allies who have gone away from it. According to sources, on July 18, the BJP has called a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Delhi. There is talk of joining some new parties in this meeting.
The Akali Dal (Badal) from Punjab and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh are likely to attend the NDA meeting. In Bihar, Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hum Party, Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas), Mukesh Sahni's VIP and Upendra Kushwaha's RLSP have also been called in this meeting.
In Maharashtra, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) will be given place in NDA. There is talk of bringing Om Prakash Rajbhar's Suhaldev Bharatiya Samaj Party from Uttar Pradesh into the alliance.
BJP is also in talks with former allies Telugu Desam Party and Shiromani Akali Dal. The idea is to improve the image of the party by expanding the NDA. Chirag Paswan will join as the sole successor of father Ram Vilas. BJP will try to help 4.5 percent of Bihar's Dusadhs and Paswans in the Lok Sabha elections through Chirag.
The BJP hopes that with the joining of Jitan Ram Manjhi of the Hindustani Awam Morcha, the votes of the Mahadalits can come in their favor. With the arrival of Vikassheel Insaan Party's Mukesh Sahni, the votes of sailors, fishermen and farmers can be in favor of the BJP.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called a meeting of opposition parties in Patna on 23 June. In this, 15 parties including Congress and Aam Aadmi Party participated. The aim was to bring all the parties together. These parties will once again assemble in Bengaluru on 17 or 18 July.
